There’s no doubt that the Valkyries are some of the most challenging enemies that players will have to take down in the game. Hildr, the Valkyrie found in the land of Nilfheim, is considered one of the hardest, especially since getting to her is already a tough challenge as the area is surrounded by a poisonous mist.Hildr stands out from the other Valkyries with her frost-baced attacks. Gamers will need to be quick on their feet and block the icicles, if they want to avoid being damaged by Hildr’s large ice boulders. Fighting Hildr is a test of agility, as gamers should beat her before dying from the poisonous mist.
One of the first villains that Kratos meets in 2018's God of War turns out to be the game’s main antagonist, Baldur. The first fight against him already gives players a sense of just how difficult it is to defeat the god of light, thanks to his swift dodges and invulnerability. It becomes even more challenging during the final battle when Kratos and Atreus must defeat Baldur with his mother Freya assisting in the background.Despite losing his invulnerability before the fight, Baldur is still incredibly difficult to defeat. He can alternate between ice and fire forms, which means players must quickly switch between the Leviathan and the Blades of Chaos to keep up. With Freya appearing in God of War Ragnarok, it's exciting to see how Baldur's mother will avenge his son's death.
Sigrun, the queen of the Valkyries, appears at the end of what is often considered the most rewarding side quest in God of War, as it allows players to face possibly the toughest boss in the franchise. This infamous battle will combine the strength and skills of those previous bosses to produce the hardest optional boss in the GoW series.Sigrun has around twenty skills that she can erratically use throughout the battle, making it difficult to predict and evade her next attack. Learning her patterns and pacing is extremely important here, as one wrong move or a small opening is more than enough for her to kill Kratos with one hit. Players will have to go through this challenging fight more than a few times to successfully defeat her.
